Telehealth provides an alternative to in-person meetings.
Since 2012, I have worked almost exclusively via telehealth or teleconferencing, unless I am going onsite for system evaluations or conferences.
I value face-to-face meetings very much; however, they unnecessarily limit who can work with me.
With the coming of COVID-19 in 2020, most are familiar with how virtual platforms allow for social visits and conducting efficient business meetings.
Location ceases to be a problem.
I have worked with individuals across all the time zones in the United States and Canada without concern.
Hawaii, New Zealand, and Great Britain are some more distant locations where I’ve arranged routine meetings.
As a result of teleconferencing, I have openings throughout the day and enjoy those odd hours that we often keep.
I can schedule appointments for most days. Sessions also are provided to accommodate the needs of international clientele.
Safety and convenience are part of the package.
I use various packages to achieve secure and flexible connections. I look for end-to-end encryption and HIPAA-compliant vendors here in the U.S. If you have preferences, I’m willing to be flexible.
Not everyone has access to wide bandwidth and sharp monitors; however, smartphones and a good cell phone plan also deliver excellent results.
Working on a virtual platform allows a parent the opportunity to consult even when childcare isn’t available or when there is a need for a meeting at a later hour.
Perhaps it allows you to fit in a session without leaving your office.
