Cohesion maximizes a community’s strength.
How cohesive is your group? What does that even mean?
Cohesion is a measure of sticking together under stress. I’ll ask again. How cohesive is your community?
It’s easy to appear united when nothing challenges your norms. Throw something unexpected into the mix and see what happens. Do things still get done, or is there endless talking and parsing of the talk?
Perhaps a single powerful voice emerges, and others sink to the background. Is that the way to maximize individual strength and attributes? Maybe not.
Trust fosters effective decision-making in a community.
Trust is built over time and with deliberate consciousness.
We learn to trust one another when we negotiate difficulties and intimacies with success.
Trust is foundational for creativity to occur across personalities and priorities.
Consider the difference between trust at these different levels of consciousness and insight. Every organization has rules required for operation, and everyone needs to trust those rules.
Trust in personalities that respond according to well-rehearsed character traits. Trust in principles of cooperation and enterprise. And finally, trust in processes of involution and evolution leading toward unknown outcomes.
